1. The Pengician Poetry Chapbook Prize

This prize, established in 2020 by Jaachi Anyatonwu, is awarded annually to previously unpublished African poets. The Pengician Poetry Chapbook Prize is open to poets only and is intended to amplify the literary skills of young African poets, encourage the development of new writing talent, and help to promote the richness and diversity of African literary traditions.

  • Who Can Submit? Young and unpublished African poets.
  • Submission Details: We are looking for a collection of your best poems. This is your chance to have your first chapbook self-published at no cost.

We seek stories that speak to our humanity and present a mirror through which we can view our individual and societal strengths and flaws.

  • Who Can Submit? Emerging African writers with a passion for storytelling.
