TOO MANY STORIES, YET WE LOSE FOCUS

We wake every morning to new stories,

A story more enthralling than the one we kept to heart

When the power of sleep enveloped us.

From where do these stories emanate?

Triggering an eccentricity amongst us,

Making us lose balance‒ tackling matters faintly.

Is it these countless stories that dub us the name Nigeria?

The giant of Africa, yet the least in logicality.

These too many stories should have spun us to think,

Yet we lose focus, sapping our last breath.

Even this poem will last in your memory only for a few minutes,

And new stories shall come to clear them from your heart.

DUSK, by Tanimonure Richards

The poem is about a gallant wordsmith who grew weary of his wordcraft because he feels he wasn't making impact nor getting his desired result from writing. Dusk narrates this feeling of himself, of which he eventually gave us a happy ending of it.
