In this poem, Maxwell Onyemaechi Opia-Enwemuche explores the mystery of women. He compares them to a puzzle, an enigma, and a creation to be cherished. He marvels at their strength and their ability to make a difference in the world. He concludes that women are indeed a puzzle to behold, but they are also a gift.
PUZZLE
I was told of a special creation,
from the bosom of a man
by old and dedicated scholars
& without questions, carrying scrolls endlessly trying to understand the question,
“What’s a woman?”
Like a poetic draft rough & coarse,
a woman was edited from a man
full of life & infinite qualities of hers
as every bit of strength made her a wo(ol)man meant to help & repair.
As I pondered & wondered at this enigma
appearing different like an updated software,
I am convinced that my study is a lifetime
with daily dose of tutorials here & there.
She’s a puzzle to the world,
an enigma in the eyes of many,
a creation to be cherished;
a personality to be respected.
She’s called a woman,
making a difference,
impacting my world
& leaving a legacy for tomorrow.
She’s indeed a puzzle to behold.
Oh wow.
This is Apt. I was so drawn to this line by line.
Indeed she’s a puzzle to be studied.
Thanks for engaging, Paul.
