The Sokoto Book and Arts Festival, an annual arts festival organized by Sokoto Book and Arts Foundation, is making a return this year.
The festival supports and promotes Sokoto’s creative industries. A variety of online and offline events, such as book chats, panel discussions, exhibitions of art, film screenings, plays, poetry performances, music, dance, and much more, are some of the activities the festival entails.
In the last two editions of the festival, over 500 art enthusiasts in the state and beyond, have been treated to and engaged in these activities. This year’s will be an expansion of the previous one, to further the conversation on the artistic and cultural history of the Caliphate and the need for a return.
The curators are poet and spoken word artist, Yusuf Shehu Ambursa and poet and essayist, Isah Aliyu Chiroma. More particular details to follow! #SOBAFest23 is Coming!
