Story Me, a Poem by LEE MK II

LEE MK II, aka Gatluak Ezekiel, is a South Sudanese nationalist poet and lit romanticist. His poem, “Story Me” explores love, legacy, and the enduring effect of storytelling.

    love me, love my life;
one day i will turn to dust,
and the soul of me would be alive
while the flesh of i died,
one day i will be the ancestor
where the words i wrote will build
                amongst the descendants
 i offspring today;
tomorrow i will be your riddles,
stories and mid night moral stories,
and the love and peace i preached would mound  the leisure to rise within.

///

  love me, love my life
the beatitude inside this beautiful dust
 will be life by next morrow; the song
of lament would be the memoriam He,
one day i will fade away, i will walk with moon to light your way like the stars,
i will rise as the sun to the descendants i  offspring nowadays;

one day i will fade away like the sun
going down on the day of tearful nation.
 one day i will be the clouds…
that rain upon your unhealed head;
i will be the moon and stars to your freedom, i will be the words within you.

///

  love me, love my life.
let me not fade away the beauty with me;
story me: the beauty of stories is sweet;
the moon precious peace is concealed underneath my healing tales.

one day there would be me in your stories, there would be me to tell like william shakespeare,
strongly created the new world with words,
i am the beauty of your morrow,
though today is my sorrow,
the memoriam would be
another great me.
  …..he, him, his , had made me….
