THE STORY OUR FATHERS NEVER TOLD

TAKE ME BACK

Times of pain never departs

Let your enemy visit my fingers

But be with me now till it’s easy

I want to go back, don’t close the door

I want to push out, let them in first

This is not a familiar feeling

And I know I’ve not seen it all

My game is not over yet

Save that red blinking health

The ones that died

Many by shock and risk

The ones I killed

In betrayal and mistrust

How did they face this?

I am on my knees in just a second…

I have subdued a king for hours

If this is the reason tears flow

Then please, weep for me

For I have torn myself in two

And I was awake when I did it

My eyes bleed and veins leak

I don’t know how much is left for me

But if a millisecond is left on it

Take me back and let me live

Now I know nothing is worse than quit

I left the heart with my own feet

I’m going to face the meat I made my feast

In a place, I’m just a bit late

DUSK, by Tanimonure Richards

The poem is about a gallant wordsmith who grew weary of his wordcraft because he feels he wasn't making impact nor getting his desired result from writing. Dusk narrates this feeling of himself, of which he eventually gave us a happy ending of it.
